The Lincoln, Nebraska-based Office of Technology Development (OTD) manages the intellectual property assets of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. OTD’s mission is to help turn academic research into tangible products and services, while returning income to the inventors and to the University to support further research and education. OTD has recently partnered with the Consulate General of Canada Minneapolis to offer Canadian companies access to technologies enabling the development of innovative new products and services.
Areas of Opportunity: Specifically, OTD is seeking Canadian companies with potential interest in the following technologies:
- Arch Bridge System Using Concrete Filled Tubes;
- Jacketed (Steel-Concrete Hybrid) Tower System;
- Conductive Concrete Overlay for Bridge Deck De-icing;
- Sulfur Dye Protection Technology Pertaining to Improving the Fastness of Sulfur-Dyed Fabrics and Decreasing the Tendency of Sulfur-Dyed Fabrics to Tender in Storage;
- 100% Regenerated Protein Fibers and Products Made from Wheat Gluten;
- A Feeding Program in Layers for the Production of Omega Eggs;
- Alcohol Oxidase 1 Regulatory Nucleotide Sequence for Heterologous Gene Expression in Yeast;
- A Method for Significantly Enhancing the Production of Porcine Reproductive and Respiratory Syndrome Virus (PRRSV)-Neutralizing Antibodies in Animals Inoculated/Vaccinated with PRRSV Strains of Varying Degrees of Attenuation;
- A system to produce high amounts of natural interferons (IFN) and for personalized IFN production;
- Detection of Hexamethylenetriperoxide Diamine (HMTD);
- Detection of Point Mutations in DNA by Fluorescence Energy Transfer;
- Improved Production and Yield Capacity of Transgenic Plants Expressing a Genetically Engineered Version of the Dicamba Monooxygenase Gene (aka, oxygenaseDIC);
- Regulation of Programmed Cell Death in Transgenic Plants;
- NE 84-315 Buffalograss;
- Inhibition of HIV-1 Gag Interactions With the Cellular Ubc9 Protein Reduces HIV-1 Infectivity;
- Method and Agents for Preparation of 18F-Labeled Radiopharmaceuticals;
- Methods for enchancing the cholesterol-lowering property of plant sterol and stanol esters;
- Polymerization of lactide and glycolide using solid state initiator;
- Pseudomonas AVR and HOP Proteins, Their Encoding Nucleic Acids, and Use Thereof;
- Ultrafast Immunoextraction/Displacement Assay using Near-Infrared Fluorescent Labels.
