Upsher-Smith Laboratories, Inc., a privately held specialty pharmaceutical company with headquarters in Minneapolis, MN (www.upsher-smith.com), is pursuing improved drug therapies to empower people suffering from diseases to lead healthy, productive lives. Currently, Upsher-Smith has a specialty sales force actively promoting products to women’s healthcare practitioners.Upsher-Smith would like to augment its current portfolio with marketed or near-to-market women’s health products. The company, in partnership with the Consulate General of Canada Minneapolis, is seeking Canadian business partners interested in a United States partner for their innovative women’s health products. Upsher-Smith is flexible and open to a variety of business arrangements and collaborative partnerships.

Areas of Interest:

Upsher-Smith is actively seeking to augment our current portfolio with marketed or near-to-market women’s health products, specifically:

· Product must be currently available or in final stages of US FDA approval including co-promotion or in-license opportunities

· Products already commercialized in US, but not currently promoted within OB/GYN community

· Products appropriate for younger women or those in peri/ postmenopausal stage

Upsher-Smith is interested in exploring a variety of partnership structures, including licensing, acquisition, co-marketing, joint ventures and profit sharing.

How to Participate:

• Review Upsher-Smith Laboratory’s areas of interest and identify those that match your organization’s products whether currently existing or under development;
• Ensure that your organization has relevant published papers, presentation materials and/or patents that can be reviewed by the Upsher-Smith evaluators;
• Contact Paul Hansen (paul.hansen@international.gc.ca) at the Consulate General of Canada Minneapolis with your expression of interest and you will be provided with a basic template for completion;
• All expressions of interest must be submitted via e-mail to paul.hansen@international.gc.ca no later than December 31, 2008;
• Upsher-Smith Laboratory will review all submissions to determine those of specific interest for future follow-up.
