ERASMUS MC has developed the first Spontaneously Immortalized Mouse Hepatocyte (SIMH) cell line that combines hepatocyte‐like properties, high metabolic competence and ease of use in standard culturing conditions. 

Abstract

ERASMUS MC has developed the first Spontaneously Immortalized Mouse Hepatocyte (SIMH) cell line that combines hepatocyte‐like properties, high metabolic competence and ease of use in standard culturing conditions. Furthermore, the SIMH cell line has a strong stability over time: characteristics are kept at high passage number. The metabolic competence of the SIMH cell line exceeds that of the toxicology gold standard HepG2.
